ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alex Espinosa is a Colombian American artist currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. Their studio practice anchors heavily in painting, printmaking, and drawing where Espinosa documents life, memories, and the human condition. While some pieces are clear depictions of their surroundings, others are twisted psychological landscapes that interpret the magnitude of their emotions. Espinosa’s usage of oil paint, plant-based / traditional inks, and pyrogravure, help further translate or express these concepts onto many surfaces. Versatile in their materials as well as skills, Espinosa aims to create immersive architectural domains that embrace connection and personhood between themselves and the viewer.
